Given that climate change represents one of the greatest environmental, social and economic threats to the development of our planet, we consider it essential to promote environmental education in our educational institutions, forming a more conscious and ecologically responsible generation.
Having said this, in partnership with several European educational institutions and organizations, an environmental project entitled "European carbon footprint optimization - ECO2" is being implemented. Different aspirations, such as sustainable development, reduction of the ecological footprint, or prevention related to environmental awareness in education, form the basis of the European ECO2 project.
This project is funded by the European Union through the Tempus Közalapítvány Program in Hungary and is represented by Humob Group Ltd. The planned implementation period is from 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2019. The list of partners and their details can be found in the list of members of the project consortium, which is part of the newsletter.
The main objective of ECO2 is to draw attention to climate change as much as possible, providing experiences to young people within their own educational institutions within curricular and extracurricular frameworks implemented.
Throughout the project, groups of students will be created in schools that will carry out environmental protection related tasks in an organized way. To obtain an accurate picture of the local conditions, the energy consumption of the institutions and thus make the ecological footprint measurable, a predetermined set of conditions will be developed. We will use IT tools / programs to support this activity, which is the long-term goal of the project. The results obtained will be summarized and compiled in a Guide that will be made available to all.
